Our Mission
To serve as the collective voice and advocate for all private polytechnics and monotechnics in Nigeria; fostering excellence in technical and vocational education through policy engagement, capacity development, and the promotion of quality standards across member institutions.
Our Vision
A Nigeria in which every private polytechnic and monotechnic operates in a thriving, equitable, and well-regulated environment that produces world-class technologists, innovators, and entrepreneurs capable of driving industrial and economic transformation.
Our Motto
"United in Development Through Technology and Science"
This motto captures APPN's core ethos: that collective action among our member institutions is the engine of progress for technical education — and, by extension, national development.
From First Forum to National Force
The Association of Private Polytechnics & Monotechnics in Nigeria was founded on 13th December 2017 at the historic First Forum of Proprietors of Private Polytechnics & Monotechnics, convened to create a unified platform for privately-owned institutions navigating Nigeria's regulatory landscape and advocating alongside their public counterparts.
On 24th April 2021, APPN was formally incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC No. 157986, cementing its legal standing as the recognised umbrella body for private polytechnics and monotechnics in Nigeria. The national secretariat is located C/O NBTE Liaison Office, No. 644 Zambezi Crescent, Maitama, Abuja.
Today, APPN is an indispensable partner to key government bodies including NBTE, JAMB, TETFund, and the Federal Ministry of Education, actively shaping policy for private polytechnic education across all geopolitical zones.
